Strategies to cope and be resilient in the face of life’s inevitable changes 

Free online learning about changes and transitions

Recommended for all high school year levels. Maximum 50 students per session.

Students will learn:

  • Grade 7: transitioning to high school e.g. making friends
  • Grade 10: transitioning to senior school e.g. study skills
  • Grade 10 or 12: transitioning away from school-based education
  • how to cope with change and have resilience around changes in the school or community
  • Other: in collaboration with the booking teacher we can tailor this session for your class needs

what happens on the day

Our counsellors personalise the session based on the needs of your class.
Here is an example of how a session may run.

 

Introduction (5 mins):

  • Interactive ice-breaker
  • Brief summary of Kids Helpline

Presentation (30 mins)

  • Presentation of key content in your chosen topic/session, including coping strategies & support options
  • Interactive learning activities (group work, video watching, games, role playing, etc.)
  • Practical application of key strategies
  • Movement/interactive breaks included as needed

Conclusion (5-10 mins)

  • Summary of session
  • Group reflection
  • Questions & answers
